Getting poster data...
Aleksi Kallio (CSC, The IT Center for Science, Espoo, Finland)A variety of bioinformatics visualisation tools have been developed for our Chipster platform. Chipster is a generic data analysis platform aimed especially at microarray data analysis. It offers an intuitive graphical user interface to a wide selection of distributed analysis tools. Chipster supports all major microarray technologies and operating systems. We have implemented the most important visualisations for microarray analysis on top of JFreeChart library. Implemented visualisations include 3D scatterplots, Volcano plots, SOM visualisations, hierarchical clustering visualisations, Venn diagrams and expression profiles. These are complemented with 2D scatterplots and histograms supported directly by JFreeChart. Due to integration with JFreeChart all visualisations can be modified via a properties panel, saved as an image and printed. Visualisations are also integrated to allow brushing: selection in one window is reflected in others, allowing visual exploration of data. Selected gene sets can also be extracted or annotated. All tools are available in open source and we would be happy to collaborate in developing the tools into a generic visualisation library for bioinforma
