Getting poster data...
Katherine Huang, François Aguet, Kane Hadley, Duyen Nguyen, Jared Nedzel, Kristin Ardlie (Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT, Cambridge, USA)Launched in 2010, the Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) Project is an ongoing effort to build a comprehensive public resource to study tissue-specific gene expression and regulation across nearly 1000 individuals. The GTEx data collections include whole genome sequencing for each donor, RNA sequencing from 53 major tissue sites, and computational analyses such as associations between genotype and gene expression (called expression quantitative trait loci, or eQTLs). The GTEx web portal (http://gtexportal.org) has an average of 15,000 users per month, and serves as the main gateway to explore the GTEx resources. The portal facilitates exploration of these multidimensional and highly integrated data with intuitive and rapid visualizations. Here, we present new visual tools available on the portal, including comparative viewers for tissue-specific expression at gene, transcript, and exon levels, as well as a Gene-eQTL Visualizer for exploration of tissue-specific regulatory effects of genetic variations acting on a gene of interest.
