Ting Wang: Genome Browsers

Ting Wang reviews the state-of-the-art in visualization systems for browsing genomes, and discusses emerging challenges with next-generation genomics sequences. He empathizes the emerging importance of visualizing genomes with other types of data (e.g., epigenetics data), and he illustrates the case of the UCSC Cancer Genomics Browser, which he co-invented. This talk was part of VIZBI 2010, the EMBO workshop on visualizing biological data (http://vizbi.org). This video has been filmed and distributed with permission under a creative common license.
