Bang Wong: Keynote on Communicating Science Visually

In this keynote talk, Bang Wong outlines key principles of effective visual communication and highlights these principles with examples of his work in medical illustration, and in designing journal cover images for the Cell and Nature publishing groups. He also highlights his recent work on the 'DNAtrium' - an exhibition space at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard - that uses large-scale media wall and multi-touch smart tables to engage the public in the scientific exploration of human genome data. This talk was part of VIZBI 2010, the EMBO workshop on visualizing biological data (http://vizbi.org). This video has been filmed and distributed with permission under a creative common license.
